More Than Just Sushi, an Experience
Last night, I had the pleasure of attending Sushi Marquee’s Media Dinner on behalf of Dallasites101.
Sushi Marquee is one of the new restaurants that are located within The Star in Frisco. It was my first time at the new Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and I was blown away!
Opening their doors the day before, Monday, December 11th, the ‘80s and ‘90s inspired sushi spot is like no other. When I arrived, we were given sparkly sake. The aesthetic of the restaurant is a perfect mix of traditional touches and modern vibes.
We had the opportunity to try the unique and delicious cocktails off their menu.
- Watermelon Ginger Margarita // Pina Loca Tequila, Lime Juice, Ginger, Syrup, Watermelon Ice Cubes
- Wasabi Mariachi // Sombra Mezcal. Avion Reposado, Yellow Chartreuse, Honey Thyme Syrup, Wasabi Oil, Fresh Mint & Strawberries
- Fuji Sangria // Fuji Apple Sake, Bayou Silver Rum, Lychee Syrup, Sparkling Pink Sake, Orange, Strawberry, Lychee, Lemon
When Sushi Marquee says that they are more than sushi, they aren’t kidding. Their menu is filled with flavorful and unique dishes that were created by award-winning chefs. The media dinner consisted of a four-course dinner with sake pairings.
FIRST COURSE
Chicken & Onion Soup + Seared Tuna Salad
SECOND COURSE
Lamb Lollipops with Cilantro Lime Sauce
Wagyu Spring Rolls
Dynamite Rock Shrimp
Sake Pairing
Ichinokura Mukansa “Unclassified”
THIRD COURSE
Punky Brewster Roll
Glazed Miso Sea Bass with Soba Noodles and Asparagus
I took a bit of the sea bass before I could take a picture and it was amazing! Here is a pic of what the dish looks like.
Sake Pairing
Sho Chiku Bai Nigori
FOURTH COURSE
Nutella Banana Spring Rolls + Vanilla Ice Cream
Sake Pairing
Lychee Nigori
Overall, I was taken back by every aspect of Sushi Marquee! Every aspect of the event was memorable and as someone that lives in Dallas, I would definitely make the drive to visit The Star again.
